Community Engagement Scholarship

Established in 2023 with a generous donation from recent American Studies alumni Brandon Ruiz, this $500 award is intended to celebrate undergraduate students who carry American studies’ emphasis on equity and social justice out of the classroom and into the community. The award will be given each spring to a graduating American studies major who has worked collaboratively with a community at or beyond CSUF to address issues affecting the community’s well-being. This could include organizing or activism on behalf of a cause with a community or otherwise working to benefit a specific community in meaningful ways.

Who May Apply: Any American Studies undergraduate student graduating in Fall, Spring, or Summer of the current academic year.

Application Procedures:  Please fill out the form below. Please attach a statement that describes the community work you have done (for instance, work with campus or student organizations, volunteer efforts, internships, or paid employment).

If you have any questions, please email amerstudies@fullerton.edu

Due Date: March 1
