American Studies Department Scholarships and Awards

We are exceptionally proud of our students and love doing whatever we can to provide them with support and opportunities as they pursue their education. Thanks to the generous contributions of our alumni, faculty, staff and other friends of the department, we are thrilled to offer a total of ten Scholarships and Awards to our undergraduate and/or graduate students. To date, more than 250 students have been assisted by these scholarships and we look forward to supporting even more in the future.

If you would like to contribute to these efforts, thank you!  Gifts may be directed to the department's general scholarship funds using either the online contribution form or a printable pledge form to be returned to the department at your convenience. You may also choose to direct your gift to one of four specific funds, the Brown-Barraza Graduate Student Scholarship, the David Jon Vaca Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship, and the Earl James Weaver Graduate Essay Prize.  Each of these awards have no endowment (meaning that when these awards are given, the funding comes out of the account principal).  If you would like to donate to the American Studies Community Engagement Award, please donate to our general fund and include the following code in the comment box online or in the memo portion of a check: 25AMST. This will ensure that the donation is routed to this specific award.

Thank you again for your generous support of our students and our department. Our department could not exist in its current form were it not for the contributions--intellectual, social, and financial--of our many students, alumni, and other friends and supporters. Should you have any questions about the donation process, feel free to contact the department.
